The Health Manager Reader

Health Manager is distributed to members of The Health Management Institute, The HMI is the professional body for those involved in Health Care Management in the
Republic of Ireland.

It was founded in 1945 as the Institute of Hospital Administrators and stemmed from the old Association of Hospital Registrars which was essentially a small Dublin-based group with membership confined to those with administrative backgrounds. Over the years, the membership has expanded considerably and now includes staff from multi-disciplinary backgrounds. The Institute aims to promote and develop professional standards of competence in the management of our Health Services in Ireland. HMI Members include managers working in all areas of health care – public, private, statutory and non statutory.
